While she misses the hot summer nights of Southern California, she enjoys the beautiful bays and hillsides of Northern California as well as the exciting and intriguing city of San Francisco -- one of her favorite settings for her books. With SUDDENLY ONE SUMMER, her next book from Pocket, which will be released on June 30, 2009, Barbara celebrates her 25th book! She began her fiction career writing for Silhouette Romance under the pen name Kristina Logan. She wrote seven books for Silhouette and then got the urge to write longer and more complex stories. DANIEL'S GIFT, her first book for Avon, won the RITA Award for Best Single Title Contemporary Romance and was optioned for a television movie. Sadly, it's still waiting to get made! Barbara went on to write a total of eight books for Avon, including RYAN'S RETURN, ASK MARIAH (RITA Finalist), ONE TRUE LOVE, THE SWEETEST THING, ALMOST HOME, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL (RITA Finalist), and LOVE WILL FIND A WAY. In 2003 Barbara moved to NAL (New American Library) a division of Penguin to write both women's fiction and romantic suspense, including SUMMER SECRETS, GOLDEN LIES (A RITA Finalist), ALL SHE EVER WANTED, DON'T SAY A WORD, TAKEN and PLAYED (connected duo), and SILENT RUN and SILENT FALL (connected duo) . This year Barbara will be starting a new ongoing series for Pocket Books set in the fictional town of Angel's Bay, set on the California coast.
